I have been listening to the Catechism in a Year podcast. i appreciate how smart people through time collaborated on this body of work. I suppose other affiliations may have less history/ easier ways to go off the rails. for example, stances on Israel/Palestine conflict or marriage vary between other churches whereas this ancient body of work isn't going to be changed as easily to accomodate the flavor of the day. it's a longer time chain, maybe? i also appreciate the decentralization aspect of all the other flavors of churches.
