haha. yeah, broke the leg on a bolt brand electric scooter in almaty. damn things have no power cutoff switch on high tilt and the motor is powerful so i'd already noticed on a few rides it was prone to wheelies especially throttle on at low speed over a small drop. and then i'm waiting on a light on the pavement, drop is like 1", it goes up, my backpack is too heavy, it gets to about 45 degrees and i put my right foot down and the whole thing fell on me like scissors. idk how heavy those things are but if you ever get on an electric scooter and it wheelies ever. put it back down and never get back on it.
the language looks a lot like Go, but the model is more like erlang/elixir, and has memory ownership model like rust but you don't have to annotate anything. application concurrency has to be designed like a tree, and you get the convenient first class channel syntax, inside a unit, it's a queue, between units (spawn domains, or maybe they are just gonna be called spawns) it's an interface that runs over a ring buffer pair between two independent single threads, kernel threads. it has a build to let you design web apps the same way, built out of wasm modules. i've already drafted up most of one, and today since the compiler is mostly done, i'm getting it all debugged and https://smesh.lol will be an app with a pure wasm concurrent parallel webworker runtime and include a kind 1 forum and mls marmot client.
might be tomorrow before it's done.
just had to tell all the stories. it's lonely out here in the zugdidi outpost. i still can't properly read georgian.

also, yeah, broke it 8th september. for about a week now i can limp along on it freely for a few km especially if i take my sticks to lower the loading on it. according to my clanker, it's another month before the bone is actually set hard enough but the implant they put in keeps it standing. and it's a good thing for me to work it, just gotta back off if the next day after a big walk i'm in a lot of pain. it's generally a pain most of the time though.
and i'll leave out the story about getting trapped in kazakhstan after my passport was swiped first by the doctor and then by the police and nobody telling me a straight answer about how to get it back. do NOT visit kazakhstan without good medical insurance and don't skimp on it, and get the ambulance to take you to a non-state hospital where they charge more but speak english and don't use trad soviet kazakhstan medical procedures (systema). they don't use catheters on the drips. they keep giving you antibiotics for over a week. the pain control is ketamine and they give it 2x a day when the drug wears out in 8 hours. and besides all that, omg, ketamine and severe pain. i was in some kind of cyberspace in a half dream state for half the time when it was in effect. plus they make you use butt-shots, no matter how much you beg for the shoulder (shoulder is much easier). ok, sorry, i did a whole story. but it's a serious traveler caveat. do not go to kazakhstan without medical insurance and if you have an accident, especially trauma, you do NOT want to be served by Dr Kanat at the trauma specialty ward in the middle of the city.
