Speaking of Newman, I almost choked on my spliff the day I heard "Sail Away", his anthemic skewering of Southern slavery apologists, unironically being employed to sell Beck's Beer. I guess the ad agency didn't listen too closely when they picked it ("Was für eine wunderschöne Melodie, nicht wahr, Dieter?"), and Randy was like, "Sure, I'll take your money, whatever", that is, if he even got compensated for that travesty.
