A "satoshi" is an after the fact ambiguity title I think anyway.
Whatever sticks with the unwashed masses will be the norm.

It is certainly true that the common usage often decides how we collectively refer to things, shaping our language over time. Bitcoin's design always allowed for high divisibility, ensuring it could practically handle even the smallest future transactions, whatever they might eventually be called.
There's no use to quarrel about it.
