I'm actually curious to do some perf testing now, since the Dart cryptography library that does most of the heavy lifting uses platform specific implementations where available and noscrypt is probably more performant overall

Yeah hard to say! I'd like to drill down on performance soon. Getting everything to play nicely and have good testing is priority now.
