In this recent episode of nostr:nprofile1qyv8wumn8ghj7urjv4kkjatd9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wsq3kamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwvf5hgcm0d9h8qctjdvhxxmmdqqs874el2hv8tn5wm3fgahuz99yl624el8r9my22gq39vcas56tmupccax696 with nostr:nprofile1qyv8wumn8ghj7urjv4kkjatd9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wsq3vamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwwpexjmtpdshxuet5qqsqfjg4mth7uwp307nng3z2em3ep2pxnljczzezg8j7dhf58ha7ejgqgzx3h - nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqyv8wumn8ghj7urjv4kkjatd9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wsqzpq35r7yzkm4te5460u00jz4djcw0qa90zku7739qn7wj4ralhe4z6d283f talked about one of the first simple changes to Twitter's feed that included a "whilst you were away" feature - which highlighted 8 top posts from people you followed in a recent timeframe, before you get to the chronological feed. In my view adding this simple change to the way client feeds work would massively increase the value of nostr - as currently there's just too much going on and it's easy to miss valuable posts. The trending section of Primal is great - but I don't believe it serves the same purpose. Do any clients offer this right now? nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqyv8wumn8ghj7urjv4kkjatd9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wsqzp4sl80zm866yqrha4esknfwp0j4lxfrt29pkrh5nnnj2rgx6dm622n97yv nostr:nprofile1qyv8wue69uhk6mmwv9jzu6nzx56jucm0d5arsvpcxqqs6amnwvaz7tmwdaejumr0dsqzqvhpsfmr23gwhv795lgjc8uw0v44z3pe4sg2vlh08k0an3wx3cj9zs5e6s nostr:nprofile1qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq3qamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wd4hk6tcqyprqcf0xst760qet2tglytfay2e3wmvh9asdehpjztkceyh0s5r9cpvx58v any plans to add something like this? From nostr:nprofile1qyxhwumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmvqyv8wumn8ghj7urjv4kkjatd9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wsqzpq35r7yzkm4te5460u00jz4djcw0qa90zku7739qn7wj4ralhe4z6d283f : "What we decided to do is ... you're on the app, and then you go away, and then you come back to it, let's say, after like 3 hours, and you're following a 1000 people. When you have to go reverse through a 1000 people to see what you missed, like, it's it's what Nostr is today ... You can't do that. It just takes time, and it takes time away from what else you could be doing. So our first algorithm was called while you're away, and it would try to figure out what you are most likely to engage with in terms of like, what you tend to look at more or you you reply to. And it would put 8 of those tweets at the top. And then underneath, it's the the full reverse cron. And we kept that for 2 years." Full Episode: https://fountain.fm/episode/OlQzTxXaGKkxfZr1pYLL

Amethyst has a feed you can go to that shows the last note from people you follow("One per follow"). Keeps from burying people that post less and quiets down the people that post a lot. But if you follow a 1000 people guess that would still be a problem to sift through. There's also a popular from npubs you follow feed, might get closer to that.

This is probably the only type of social-feed algorithm I would actually actively use. Trending algos aren't very high-signal at an individual level and the more niche, personally interesting content doesn't get surfaced much, if at all. Much needed! nostr:nevent1qqsfqzh2ukhsgad4h9aaws5ur9wdspkd99g7rczpnaf66xn062g08lcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qgswfa547pdmqkerzf2uen3agudc67wxffjmenqpge3dylc006fppysrqsqqqqqps7uagk

Sounds like a good feature, I would just suggest making it optional, like everything. On an unrelated note, I like seeing how the English still use "whilst", which, as someone who grew up reading the King James Version of the Bible, is like a quaint throwback to Elizabethan and Pilgrim-era English 😄

A simple catch up section to the main feed would make the nostr experience so much better. nostr:nevent1qqsfqzh2ukhsgad4h9aaws5ur9wdspkd99g7rczpnaf66xn062g08lcpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgq6uxjs
