as in, this is happening so this is us, isnt it? this is who we are right now

I have a close friend with a kid in the National Guard who is very worried that their unit will be deployed to an American city where they might be ordered to open fire on fellow American citizens. It’s happened before, and if it does again, we deserve whatever becomes of us after that.
