If the government discriminates against non-KYC bitcoin then they certainly also will discriminate against Monero as a whole, since the anonymity/privacy is what they have a problem with. So what’s the difference really? Seems like the real power in all of it comes from going around the government and the fiat system entirely in the long run. There will always be somewhere in the world that will accept your money, maybe just not the shitty over reaching western countries that we current live in during the final death throes of the fist collapse.
