Yeah I was thinking that the state maybe just knew about this exploit and went ahead and coordinated the brute force attack and the wallet drain, timing it right before a contentious soft fork and possibly using miner collusion to force a further stochastic loss of funds and FUD around block reorgs changing confirmation times (keep your old backups!!) And notice they have been censoring r/Bitcoin
