EigenTrust Reputation Scores on #Nostr โ€” Now Live as NIP-85 Events https://nostrbtc.com/directory/grid now computes reputation scores using the EigenTrust algorithm โ€” moving beyond simple follower counts or volume of activity. It traces trust through the social graph by analyzing follows, zaps, replies, reactions, and reposts. The model incorporates temporal decay, ensuring older activity fades in influence and per-pair caps to prevent gaming of the system. These trust scores are published as NIP-85 events (kind 30382) on the relay. Any nostr client can query kind 30382 from wss://nostrbtc.com, filtered by the nostrbtc relay key, to retrieve trust data for every listed member. ๐Ÿšจ The feature I am most excited about is the personalized discovery capability: simply paste your npub into the directory, and it identifies accounts you may be missing. It examines the accounts you already follow, identifies those that your trusted connections also trust and ranks recommendations by their relevance to your existing network. No login is required. No private keys are needed. Only your public npub is used. Try it. ๐Ÿšจ For client developers: The trust data is freely available for querying. Connect to wss://nostrbtc.com and request kind 30382 events, filtered by the author public key: cbf71e6c2da0f72a862d27f898ec88ad11d064ab605c974e678e402741836de4 @Vitor Pamplona ๐Ÿ‘€ Thanks @Jon Gordon for pinging me about NIP-84. This might actually be a good solution for now ๐Ÿค“ image
