Bandcamp is pretty good! I urge you to keep doing that. But also do the #demu thing! 1. Get yourself a lightning address first. 2. Get yourself set up with RSS to upload your music. One upload puts you on fountain.fm , and v4vmusic.com , podcastindex.org and opens the door for podcasters to find your music. 3. Promote it on nostr so the people know, and for music shows spin your tunes! We like to use podhome.fm but theres many options out there in varying flavors of sovereignty. Ask us if you get stuck!

Rizful replied to you, theyre legit and recommended. Id also recommend looking at coinos.io as an artist. These are free options. You can use your lightning address with podhome.fm or any other hosting provider that also helps build your RSS feed. You can use it in your nostr profile too for zaps! The address will look like an email address yourname@rizful.com for example. Fountain.fm makes it very easy for artists to upload AND they provide a wallet too. Fountain (like podhome) are paid options. There's a bunch of other options out there for wallets and hosting providers. The basic plumbing needed are: Lightning address - to recieve payments RSS Feed - its a big text file. Create your own from a template( @DuhLaurien ✌🏻👽💨 prob has a copy) or let one of the service providers to do it for you Media Host - this is often rolled in if you use a service that builds your feed for you. But you can use anything to host your audio file and album art. Just put the address in your feed.
Very sorry for the ignorant questions... Do listeners generally use an app on their phone? I loaded AntennaPod from FDroid which seems ok. V4VMusic.com looks like a great browser-based service but not the best for on the go. And what is MSP2.0?
Music Side Project 2.0, a form musicians will be able to fill out to create and broadcast an RSS feed of their music -- currently in the works! I'm not sure how much people use mobile. I have a PWA of LNBeats and V4VMusic, and for listening to podcasts I generally use Curiocaster on my desktop or Podcast Guru when I'm on the go. You can see all the Podcasting 2.0 apps at NewPodcastApps.com
Ahh thank you. Yes, I read through the MSP site. It really helped explain the steps for publishing the music. I'll give the PWAs a try 🙏
At this point in time. The only solid investment of time and energy is #demu #v4v podcast2. I wouldn't delete anything from bandcamp, but it's absolutely not worth any further work. It's neither going to help you, nor your audience. You might want to have a track or two everywhere with links to your real deal, in the eventuality someone tries to look you up. Take it from someone who's spent over 20 years in the trenches of digital independence closely observing and probing pretty much every enshittifier of the web.
