okay let me play around with fedimint ecash on mutiny and see if the UX is different there!

The balance you see after making an LN payment is ecash. There are tokens on your device. There is not a separate sats in lightning account balance. The "send" ecash is selecting the tokens you have in yout balance to use. Enuts has "coin control" so you are able to actually select the specific ecash token to send.

In a cashu wallet, when you create an invoice and it gets paid, the ecash are created and put in your wallet. I believe it happens in 1 step.

correct - but Wallet<->MINT must be online reachable when CLAIMING or MINTING 🥜

I also haven't had the experience you're having Hong when using cashu.
