Wasn't this the aftermath of some volcano eruption the year before, that spewed a lot of stuff into the atmosphere which took a good year to cover the whole globe?
None of these climate models will factor in black swan events like volcano eruptions or a comet impact, for which our civilisation is arguably much more fragile to and changes the climate over night
