Free Our Feeds shared a first update on their project to build independent ATProto infrastructure. The organisation says that their first priority is getting an independent archival relay up and running in Europe. For this, they are targeting a 4 million USD fund raise over the next 8 weeks.

The whole "fed" word in the fediverse just honestly creeps me out. I find no freedom in their instances and I have tried many.
What kind of stuff have you experienced?
A lot of moral gatekeeping even on simple link posts, kicked off one instance for sharing a movie on YouTube, one instance I liked shut down in 3 months and it goes on and on.
Not one mention of Nostr.
Is this Fediverse tied to Fedimints projects?
