....or whatever else. Someone sent me a link to view accounts that have just started nostr. I am going to try and spend like a half hour per night interacting with them.

I would recommend to spend some time to understand NIPs and nostr events. Which are basically what makes nostr interoperable. While notes are fun they're just notes like tweets. The real magic and power of nostr is hidden in the "other stuff". That's why I only recommend clients that support a wide range of NIPs such as noStrudel for example.
Then there is nostr.band which gives you a good overview on "actual" trends, curated feeds and more.

One of the most important things about nostr is self-moderation thanks to the lack of algos deciding for you what you want to see or not want to see. For that I'd recommend setting up "custom lists" to filter your timeline for content you do want to see. Mute word lists and tag lists work too when customising your nostr experience. Some clients, like noStrudel, have lists built-in. If your client doesn't display lists, use listr.
