He does have half a point, but misses the other half.
The current user experience of Nostr doesn't compete 1:1 with the well-polished UX of X, but the decentralized nature of the protocol is not the cause of that, and neither does it have to be the end state of Nostr forever.
The way both bitcoin and Nostr can scale infinitely is by combining the best parts of decentralization and centralized services. Not everyone can use the base chain directly, and nobody should expect them to.
In the same way not everyone should be expected to "tweak the algorithm" and micromanage their experience. Centralized services like Primal can handle that stuff for the majority and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
As long as you have the right to unilateral exit (withdrawing your sats without permission, or changing the platform you interact with Nostr), there's no problem with using centralized services for better UX.
