Modern banking took away the necessity of learning this responsibility. But it's illusory and sooner or later as a society we'll have to re-learn it, I don't see a way around this.

Agreed. I'm merely reporting the current state of society. Collaborative custody is valuable for those still needing to learn. It's normal to get help from other people.
