Kruse’s argument is that as chip manufacturers (like TSMC) push semiconductor technology down to 2nm, 1nm, and sub-nanometer levels, they are running headfirst into Landauer’s Limit. Once chip manufacturing reaches the Landauer limit, miners can no longer make chips more energy-efficient by changing their architecture. So who ever controls the source of cheap energy wins, and that is nation states centralization an existential threat to Bitcoin. He is calling the 6 Bitcoiners frauds for not addressing this. But he is a fucking idiot. Regardless of how much energy you throw at Bitcoin, difficult adjustments will make sure you get a block every 10 minutes. Period.

But that’s not an β€œargument” it’s a fact that anyone who’s been thinking about compute at all has known for decades. I still don’t understand what he thinks the conspiracy is. What does he expect them to β€œaddress”. I’m just tired of all these fucking sad people whose moment has passed desperately grasping for relevance.

TSMC and Intel will just pass Landauer's Limit costs to consumers, fueling Klaus Schwab's techno-feudalism.

Could I ask you to spell out the relationship between the prospective impending nation state monopoly on cheap energy and the 10 minute difficulty adjustment? Big energy would seem to crowd out smaller, decentralized miners as more mining power is brought online rewarding the big centralized miners with access to cheap, nationalized power. If I have understood this right, this should be a legit concern for anyone who understands that bitcoin is only hard because its nodes are decentralized.
