I tried to onboard a local street vendor in Chicago selling elotes with Cashapp but it surely wasn’t as seamless as I thought it would be.
In conclusion he has no Sats and I had to tip him with Fiat. Aqua would have been the better choice but translating English to Spanish and vis versa was another barrier.
Basically on Cashapp there wasn’t a quick way to hit receive bitcoin but only scan a QR code. Maybe I was rushing idk but even still it wasn’t as easy as send or receive bitcoin, especially in a non-custodial way but hey that’s FIAT- Cashapp.

Yea that was the problem. Even trying to copy a receive address wasn’t to be found unless he “signed up via email” which he said he didn’t have.

I have bitcoin stuck on my moms cashapp because we are not doing kyc for her. Lucky right now its only like $40 worth but thats gonna hurt looking at it in the future
I think in the future if I have more time with someone to onboard with Aqua wallet or Nostr (Primal) as it’s a bit more seamless for beginners, especially beginners to bitcoin and possibly even this style of social media. Lots of older people are on Fb/meta.

To on board primal would be perfect but ive had issues trying to on board with primal and some of my people kept getting denied when it came to the wallet setup.
Pain in the ass. But if you know someone that happens to already be kyc’d you could transfer it to them and ask them to forward it to you. It’s a few extra steps, but it would work.
Hmm that’s true I was once denied when trying to set up one with a separate account.
There really needs to be a 2 min or under way to onboard people or most won’t look into it. They’ll end up sticking to cashapp and Venmo on the fiat side of things even if these platform offer ways to transact in bitcoin most not taking advantage of it.
