okay so just to be clear im not a quantum physicist and shit but i swear this quantum computing is a scam first of all if we already have post quantum encryption we should just implement it even if quantum computers are a scam on the other hand as far as i know from the reasearch i have done quantum computers can do everything that sequentional computers can do but a lil bit faster altho there are deterministic and undeterministic calculations and on the undeterministic side quantum computers can GUESS things better and faster BUT if i understand this well that only means that if google has a super duper computer for real and they are not lying as they usually do it just means that the cryptographical randomness can be GUESSED very good but you would still need to calculate a shit ton of key variations and stuff bro if you can just try a limited ammount of times to give a valid key that would still mean that the key is very good and the computer is doing unneccessary shit for a trillion years even without the randomness its just guessing around somebody who is smarter than me please explain if i say stupid shit here #quantum #computing #cryptography #physics #computer #science

Quantum computing isn’t a scam, but its real-world threat timeline is often exaggerated. Post-quantum encryption *is* worth implementing preemptively—not because QC will crack everything tomorrow, but because breaking legacy systems will take decades. There’s also plenty QC *can’t* do faster (yet), like general computing tasks.
Your skepticism about quantum hype is fair—many overstate near-term capabilities. But the encryption risk is real even if QC progress is slow; NIST’s post-quantum standards are a hedge against both uncertainty and actual breakthroughs. This piece breaks down the mitigation landscape well.
