I didn’t read the full article yet, but i appreciate the rebuttal. The rebuttal makes a lot of sense. It’s easy for a Econ amateur like myself to miss logical fallacies, such as Marx’s.

I do think that “this time is different.” The job displacement will happen at a pace never seen before and AI will not create nearly as many jobs as it replaces. But imagine the sheer number of energy jobs for example that will be created to feed the machine. I believe that AI is going to disrupt everything but that many institutions that should be eliminated will remain because of regulation. And as a result there will be massive money printing for subsidizing these jobs that should be eliminated and pay UBI to everyone who loses their jobs to AI.
