Well done video, most of it true I expect. It seems like most governments feel a strong compulsion to spy and control. The leaders in office believe, likely correctly, that there are 10,000 nasty intelligence operatives, NGOs, and revolutionaries who are just slavering to oust them and jail or kill them. So they'll do literally anything to avoid that. It's a very, very rare man who wouldn't. Where I differ with Joe is his assumption that democracies are any better than dictatorships in this regard. They usually aren't.
