My daughter loves manga (that's why we Alex supports graphic novels) and likes to sew and knit her own clothes. I was thinking of some sort of handicraft app. Sharing design ideas and patterns, or something.
It's funny, as they both understand them and my son is even studying informatics, but they just aren't cool or special, anymore.
Grown-ass men chatting about their clankers reminds them of Opa and his friends talking about their model trains. Except that the trains have been uncool for long enough to be retro. ๐
We're at a breakfast together. Just floated the Nostr pattern site idea and she was like, Oh, wow, cool, what is the website?
No, uh, we have to build it, first. ๐
Only retro-cringe is cool, grandpa. It's only cool, if the Boomers (Gen X and Y) think it's cringe.
We sit here and share our favorite memes. It's nerd-bonding.
Need some sort of meme-site, like GifBuddy, but for pictures.
Something like Readly is going into Alex. So that you get daily sections of an array of books, newspapers, blogs, dictionaries, encyclopedias, and magazines to read through. And when you are done with those sections, you are marked done for the day, and it is over, close the app.
They like apps to have a beginning and an end. No infinite scrolling.
Something something โฝ
Give them a solid group/community app that lets them add any content type they want in the groups/communities.
Webxdc games, knitting patterns, 3D print files, homework solutions, Music tracks, Mangas... All things they can only clumsely integrate in their. current chat-based apps.
Yeah, only follows and communities. No open Internet and now ๐ค
Nostr actually has some good original memes, but there's no collection that I could pull into an app. Like ImgFlip.
Hehe, they ain't joining on their parents on da public square, that's for certain.
u mean like memeamigo.lol or, like that but with different sources?

killer app right here
Ah, cool, yes, that's what I was looking for. I could integrate that into my Jumble.

Maybe we're focusing badly on this generation Z. They do not share our same interests and concerns for privacy, security or freedom or for technology as a means to achieve it, they take almost everything for granted. Their interests are more human.
my interests are human too. i'm long humanity.
I'm gen z and I worry about all that, a lot of mine aren't interesed at all, I agree with you
I don't doubt it.
I'm happy for you. ๐๐ผ There are always exceptions to the rule.
cool yeah I wasn't sure you had heard of gifbuddy's sister site memeamigo ๐ glad I mentioned. lemon is awesome for making these.
Maybe even a nostr version of New York Times Games - Wordle, Connections, Spelling Bee, Strands, Crossplay, and the famous Sudoko
Iโd love that for myself tbh
I agree with you 100% as a Gen Z, lol.
