And why would any of this make nodes any more expensive to run? Because they don't.... Again you are critical of a problem that does not exist because you don't understand the real implications of this change and just want to placate to your peers by virtue signaling based on the implementation you run. Prove me wrong. How does running core make nodes more expensive to run?

It is cheaper to run a bitcoin node now than ever before. Bitcoin Core has a rough consensus review process to make sure there is no arsenic (security flaws) in it. The other implementations don’t even come close to the number of competent software engineers that look at new code before it gets published.
