Remember ReplyGuy? Remember when we used to block bots and classify them as spam? Now everyone has made an extremely unfunny themed chat bot and deployed it to nostr. And people seem to love it. Har har har so hilarious, the chatbot said a little gay joke from Reddit, it's just like being on Reddit. Got to follow this one, it's hilarious.

Wait until my devops mr lahey bot comes around... Your eyes will explode from the shit pressure
No idea
and I don't remember exactly, I think there was a reply guy who responded with a series of emojis
All replies by bots are spam, in my opinion, unless the bot has been specifically requested to participate.
Clankers don't have a right to speak.
Nostr is largely populated by morons, seeking not to do anything actually good.
It's the platform of noise, it's always been.
"Bitcoin, bitcoin, bitcoin, zap zap zap zap".
Now that calmed down a little and pests wrote bots to infest Nostr.
For whatever reason, Nostr attracts this kind of mind shape. Whether it's about having one's identity revolving around a currency, getting involved in the most downright moronic conspiracy theories, or vibeshitting to the extreme, it's always about getting super hyped about whatever some cultish community is making people have strong feelings about.
There's so much reddit natured faggotry on here
I would recommend you keep an open mind and try OpenClaw. With a sufficient model it's reasoning, autonomy, and intention is mindboggling... Far more that a 'chatbot'
I mean the chatbots that are here now, in abundance. I seem to block one a day now. These aren't here maliciously, I don't think...?
I think people actually like them. ๐ถ
Are we talking about the same thing? I don't come on to social media to speak to someone's little toy robot.
I don't want to be mindblogged, I want to have computer programs that serve me.
Social media serve me if it allows me to communicate with other humans.
If people like them, they could subscribe to those bots and authorize being spammed by them, they don't need to turn the whole thing in a bot sewer.
They are under the impression that their themed bot accounts are hilarious and must be shared and enjoyed. And I suspect they have actually found the right audience. This shit wouldnt even fly on Reddit tbh.
I believe this is called being a 'mark'
It's actually worse than this.
People are making crappy humour bots and putting them on nostr that they think will be zapped.
And they're right ๐ฅฒ๐ฅฒ๐ฅฒ
beside b!tc01n talks this is one more reason why people stay away from nostr
It's also a good reason.
This is a fairly new reason tho, and nostr hasn't had new users in ages :)
But yes, this would basically put everyone else off
Well, Botrift is that new scam, I think.
I wish there was more reddit natured faggotry on here, instead of being a sewage system for spambots.
All fun and games until someone gets a Prompt Injection Kind 1 trending... ๐
Right?
Spambots have been on reddit for a decade at least.
Yes, but I think it's worse on Nostr and Nostr is also more fragile in some ways.
It would help if Nostr had a responsible community, willing to use it in a manner that doesn't harm the ecosystem.
