Peter, there are people living there. Not every Plestinian in Gaza is Hamas. There are ordinary people trying to survive on the land of their fathers. Not everyone is brave enough to stand up against armed militants. Not everyone would risk his family’s lifes. Yet they did not chose the exile. They are now between the hammer and anvil. It is not hat easy to get rid of Hamas out ouf there and while I agree that this would solve at least some of the problems but treating all Gaza inhabitants as Hamas will only bring more suffering to the people and also move desperate ones to the hands of Hamas. Last point. Western people, Europeans, Americans do not understand Islam. We know nothing and we will never understand it. This is the main reason of all the wrong actions in that region.
