True, but it doesn't matter. Think about all the things people carry that are made of metal. Then think about how all precious metals are very ductile and most have low melting points. And can be painted. Drugs and explosives get caught because some constituents have high vapour pressures at room temperature, and are not ubiquitous in urban areas. Metals have none of those issues.
