2. You can pay nostr.build (or other hosts) for advanced features, otherwise basic image hosting is still currently free

For #2, I find nostr.build the easiest to use for embedding pictures and other media in notes. nostr.build has both free and paid options. For #1, I never updated my Damus app (because I never do updates, lol), so I still have the old version before all the drama with Apple.
