Because Nostr is one whole system with relays. As I said, Bluesky works with instances instead. Each instance requires a new account. You can also delete your data from that instance.

Because there aren't others. Anyone can set up a new instance, there are tutorials on how to.

That's precicely why nostr is so revolutionary and bluesky is just another boring old social media platform.

Yeah and there are Facebook clones on github. People spin them up all the time but they never gain traction.

Probably due to not earning enough trust and people not wanting to switch. See Koo for example, was a new social media during the Twitter debacle, but ended up closed.

Most relays refuse most content. But i can still copy my notes between relays, and anyone can read from my private relay. And anyone can spin up a relay thats wide open. And theres no "federation" to worry about. And relay owners cannot impersonate users. Thats what real decenteralization looks like.

You don't have to "trust" my relay. All the notes on it are cryptographically guaranteed to have come from the holder of the nsec they're signed by

You said it right here: nostr is ONE WHOLE SYSTEM. That no one entity can control or censor, you own your identity across all relays, and relays can come and go without effecting your whole identity and all your content.

That's true. Nostr is way better, but still far behind in regards to membership. Most people who hear about Nostr think it's just another bitcoiner network due to it being anonymous. After the X debacle in Brazil, people are kinda wary of "unmoderated"/decentralized social media. I've heard a few politicians talking about Nostr, but haven't seen many here. Most prefer Truth, Gettr or the mainly known ones like X and Threads, due to their public also being there.
