🤝 One of the most important lessons I learned from my father is this: when we welcome a new colleague, we shake their hand. And we tell them: one day, we will part with the same handshake. Because we won’t work together forever. At some point, circumstances, the company, or time itself will bring that chapter to a close. And that’s natural. What matters is that along the way we can always look each other in the eye, stay true to our conscience, and know we did our best with honesty and integrity. In recent years, whenever I had to part ways with a colleague, it was usually in peace and mutual agreement. But I’ll be honest: in the past month, I had to sign the resignation of six direct colleagues and middle managers — people I personally hired, onboarded with a handshake, gave responsibilities to, and worked alongside. And yet, due to organizational changes and new business priorities, I had to make the decision to let them go. It wasn’t easy. But we could part with the same handshake we began with. That’s why I believe leaders must always remain honest, fair, and respectful. We greet with a handshake — and we say goodbye with one too. #leadership #values #integrity #respect View quoted note →
