According to one story, there was a time when all the banks in the world grew tired of transporting gold from country to country. So they decided to open an office on an island in the Pacific Ocean where all the banks’ headquarters were located, and all the gold was brought together there. That way, whenever they needed to cash out the gold, all they had to do was carry it across the street. And operations ran smoothly for about 10 years. Then, bank executives from various countries came to visit the island with their wives and children and held a grand gathering. They reviewed the ledgers and transactions, and everything was in perfect order. Finally, the children said, “Dad, we want to see the gold.” At this point, a bank owner told the managers, “Take our children to the vaults so they can see the gold.” The managers replied, “Well, that’s a bit of a difficult and troublesome task, and it would take a lot of time.” The owners reacted, saying, “What are you talking about? Stop being silly. What’s the big deal? What’s wrong with them seeing the gold?” At this, the managers hesitated, stammered, and, caught between a rock and a hard place, said: “Well, we regret to say that seven years ago there was a terrible earthquake underground, and all the gold fell into the deep fissure when the earth split open. But of course, we all knew exactly how much gold we had back then, so we continued to keep the accounts accordingly.” It’s like a joke, isn’t it? But unfortunately, this is reality -the reality we’re living in. People simply don’t understand, don’t know, and don’t even want to know or listen to the fact that money is just a ledger, nothing more than a ledger. And this ledger is, in today’s world, utterly bogus and open to manipulation! image Bir hikâyeye göre bir zamanlar dünyadaki tüm bankalar ülkeden ülkeye altın taşımaktan yorulmuşlar.
