I also think that any minority group should be wary of being especially coddled and protected by the government, and held above the law, as that usually means you're going to get absolutely crushed by the opposition, when the government flips. Turnabout is fair play, and all. We should be striving for a small government with extremely limited powers, and everyone equal under the law. Otherwise, it's just tyrants taking turns. Biden/Trump are just two sides of the same megalomanic coin. Same as Merkel/Merz are fighting over what to spend the money on, not whether to spend the money.

It’s difficult to give up power once you have it. At the beginning of the term you say I am going to use this power to do some good. At the end you say I haven’t finish what I was trying to do. Nobody has the time to give power away, they’re too busy using it.
