"Spam" is subjective and defined by the RECEIVER. So, as a node runner, I do NOT want to relay non-monetary transactions, and I believe I should have the right to configure that. What goes into the blockchain is OBVIOUSLY different than what goes on to my mempool, and what I want to relay. Of course I cannot stop that, but at least my mempool is sending a signal that I do not promote nor relay non-monetary transactions.
