The laws were made for big companies like Apple and Google but they cause big problems for Linux because it is free open software built by volunteers who care about privacy and freedom. System76 won a special rule in Colorado to skip this, while groups like MX Linux say no and some people have made tools to avoid the age check completely.

I’m a long time Linux user and would be willing to move to the most obscure computer setup to preserve privacy. Fuck these people who believe they have the right to know your personal information and track you for the privilege of using a computer

now they say that they are only asking for a date, but if everyone gives in just to that, they will begin to demand more and more until they reach the point that they will surely ask that you have the camera on all the time every time you turn on the PC.
