Me: I must raise brave and independant children.
Also me: Where the hell are my kids? I wish they'd stop wandering off.
Can you relate?

I think my 70’s/80’s parents were actively trying to get rid of us. I think it was about 1984 before I ever wore a seatbelt. At 7, my Dad would let me steer the car while he ran the pedals, to get he and my Mom home from parties, because he was too hammered to see the road. I should have died 20 times as a kid.
Right along the lines of raising critical thinkers taught to question authority. “Really wish they’d just listen and do what I said”
Ours disappeared into the woods with a camp chair, a book, and a Chinese Rambo knife. He came back 3 hours later with a sharp stick strapped to his back by a vine. I worry that he's dead when he gets out of sight, but I'm glad that he's spending some time being feral.
Me: I'm so glad my child isnt a vapid brainless idiot like all these other kids.
Also me: don't speak to me like an adult, child.
Me: I must raise free thinkers who question authority.
Also me: just do what I told you to without fighting every time.
That is awesome. That kid's going places
At least you ask the question. Back in the 70s, our parents never did.
slightly unrelated but where can i get a chinese rambo knife lmao
His Uncle @Hobo gave it to him. It has the little survival kit in the grip and everything.
