In the late 3rd century, during Diocletian's persecutions, Zotic, Atal, Camasis, and Filip were martyred in Niculițel, Scythia Minor (present-day Romania). They were Roman soldiers who secretly practiced Christianity, and were discovered while ministering to other imprisoned Christians. Refusing to renounce their faith, they were subjected to brutal tortures and ultimately beheaded. Their relics, discovered in 1971, testify to their unwavering faith and the early presence of Christianity in the region.
