"From the beginning of my Reformation I have asked God to send me neither dreams, nor visions, nor angels, but to give me the right understanding of His Word, the Holy Scriptures; for as long as I have God's Word, I know that I am walking in His way and that I shall not fall into any error or delusion." - Martin Luther #TheQuoteShelf #ToChristAlone image

Zwingly prayed the same thing and came to a radically different understanding of the sacraments within the first 5 years of worms. Luthers blindspot I think was that he believed that one could discern truth independant from the historical church, which, if you are up against corrupt Rome , seems justified. However, he probably didn't expect that thousands would start down this same path after the reformation and come to radically different conclusions than he did, with good intentions. Without a normative interpretational standard, you end up with what we have today. 50k denominations.

If we revisit Christ & the Centurion and John 1:1-5, the importance of the Word shines brighter all the time
