Jimmy I deeply respect you but I think this missed the mark and is uncharacteristically shortsighted.
It fundamentally comes down to the question: is bitcoin tooling ready to onboard 8 billion people?
If you think it is, I’d like to hear you expand on that. I am incredulous.
If you concede that it’s not then by definition there are projects worth building. In that case, I want to hear more constructive thoughts on what should/shouldn’t get funded.
This piece seems pretty biased by your experience. Not everyone was paying attention when #bitcoin appeared at $20. You can’t hold it against people that they want to earn their keep and move the movement forward in a positive direction and be compensated for it.

No, I agree with him. I don’t think he’s saying we shouldn’t build anything at all, but rather we should take more care, attention and thought towards what we are. A lot of things like fedimint and “far worse” things like ordinals are great, but they’re just not good enough.
