The span of this chart is much shorter than my usual #history #timeline but it's still worth posting.
Probably the best you could have hoped for from legacy finance a few years ago, when #gold was constantly called a barbarous relic.

This is also and interesting chart...
I argue that the gold standard era ended in 1913, with the creation of the Fed. DB is clearly wrong about extending it to the 1940s.
