You should use a virtual office of some sort, NOT your real address or P.O Box or equivalent.
It's also a good idea to use a re-routing service in addition to a virtual address. @SovStack provides re-routing.

Even just for buying? i.e. as the return address?
What's the threat model here, like I can definitely see why not telling the seller where you sleep at night is good, but I feel like this wouldn't be enough to fool the IRS?
