Wallets aren't required, and people are familiar with password managers.
It may seem like a great path until Primal users find out:
- People are not seeing their videos or images
- People are reacting in many ways, but Primal users only see a heart (and don't see a count, apparently)
- Replies to replies are hidden from Primal users, making a concept of threads (from 30 years ago), not available.
- All notes are being routed through a centralized relay, removing one of the largest benefits of Nostr

At which point, they are free to expire other clients, signers and wallets ๐
That's the beauty of Nostr.
Yes, a wallet is not required but getting a zap is kind of exciting for people, and explaining wallets is tedious.
In Primal I can see reaction counts but only hearts - unless I go into notifications.
I don't like the caching server.
I wasn't aware of an issue with media files. I've used Primal blossom servers to upload videos and people seem to be able to view them.
If you have more info on this I'd appreciate it you could share. Thanks!
Yup
A majority of the media in my feed are primal urls with spinners (for stills), and black rectangles, or small video files that pause for half a minute every half a second, for video files.
I'm willing to bet that Primal users don't experience this, but it makes Nostr pretty lame. I often scroll past, otherwise I'd be waiting minutes for each Primal-media-related post. The web of the 90's was faster.
One of the first things users need to learn, regardless of what client they use, is they are not posting images or videos on Nostr, they are posting URLs to them. They can post URLs because URLs are just text.
Some "Nostr" clients also happen to offer cloud storage as an additional service. They may as well send you a pizza, that doesn't make pizzas part of Nostr.
