When I set up my Nostr account I was immediately assigned 160 or so random followers.
Who chose them for me and based on what criteria, do you happen to know?

It looks like you set up your account with Primal (initially at least). I think the app auto-follows recommended accounts based on your interests to get you going. This feature seems to rub some people the wrong way.
