Several times. By 2014 I was over it. If you've never been might as wel go! It's one week out of the year where you can visit a different reality.
I have a friend who did. She said it was muddy, rare rains that year, and had to pack in water, and every thing you might need. You cannot leave the event apparently. She said her socks were sticking to her skin and peeled off with flakes because it is so dry there. She still enjoyed it. Not a fan personally.
I last went in like 2008? 🤔 It was a lot of fun. But also a lot of discomfort. A ton of very rich people larping as philosophers because they were on a lot of psychedelics. Bring something to barter with. I did tarot card readings and gave some folks existential crisises which was fun (for me 🤣) If the camp that invited you is bougie and has a shower and decently comfy bed I'd say go. It's a really cool experience. I hitchhiked in as a teenager and while it was a blast I'm too damn old for that nonsense now 🤣
I have a friend that went twice. She had loads of fun. To go, one must be prepared...with water supply for all the event....and be prepared for conditions and termic amplitude, very high temperatures by day and very low below negative at night. The experience is one of kind. By her eyes and experience, she went with a group with a truck that goes every year. If you don't get support, or get lost, in middle of sand storm, and woke up in the middle of nowhere, with no water ..no one is going to save you. One must be prepared for it. It has to be a very potent experience. Plus the venue, the music and the ones that are there not to harm, but to be of hand and have fun and take care of eachother. There will always be people who can't behave, whatever the setting. I am not excusing it, but it happens, unfortunately, even, inside 4 walls, inside families. I will never understand....It's beyond my comprehension. But it does happen, more than we would like to admit
I wanted to go as an experience of once in a lifetime, but meanwhile, my wants have changed, I love comfort and I don't think comfort is something you experience there...lol Although I love a good party and the concept, I know myself enough to know that I don't react very well to high temperatures... So, my body would probably ask me to leave asap...🤣 Not sure if I would be able to enjoy fully.
Apparently it isn't what it was. Now influencers are running rampant trying to get the best photos/videos for social media. Disclaimer it doesn't seem that great to me being stuck out in a desert. I went to a Love Burn in 2015 and that was smaller and more like camping at a concert going on 24/7 surrounded by interactive sculptures. Maybe there's a mini burn in year area. It might be more authentic.
