I want to be as optimistic as the many other nostriches on here.
But after everything I have seen happen in the last couple years. The tensions between US, Russia, China... Increasingly more dramatic trade wars, Mutually Assured Destruction being questioned due to advances in hypersonic missiles combined with nuclear disarmament meaning there are far fewer nukes, advances in AI and war game simulations that increase superpowers confidence for how they could win....
I don't see much of a chance that nuclear war does not occur in the next 5 years. I really hope God is real and so is the afterlife.
Many will see this as doomerism or hyperbole. But read history, step back, and try to be objective about where the world is at right now. I hope I'm wrong.
