I've got a theory about the nonsense in the UK, and why it’s coming to you soon.
People don’t have the time, or the energy, to defend free speech anymore. Or even think for themselves. So they let the state do it for them. They want to be safe. Protected. Cared for.
But that protection comes with a price: our speech, our privacy, our autonomy.
Now the UK government wants to break encryption. They want to end anonymity online. They’re calling dissent “harm.” They’re silencing their people in the name of “safety.”
And people are letting it happen, mostly. Because thinking is hard. Standing up is harder.
Free speech isn’t free. It requires citizens who care. Who act. Who refuse to outsource their minds.
But in a fiat world? We’re too tired, too broke, too distracted to fight.
