My experience publishing music via RSS is probably 95% of boosts are from the same group of less than 10 people immediately after I announce a new release or autoboosts when it get played on a music show.
I won't name you but thanks guys! π
I don't know if others have the same experience or not.
Everything I have been boosted I boost back into the music economy. I want to help support and grow this alternative.
I haven't been very successful onboading listeners and it seems most bitcoiners aren't interested in financially supporting musicians embracing the fairer alternative system - they are happy pay their Spotify subscription because they get value from the platform itself.

Yes that's a big advantage for podcast listeners. Just get the them to switch to an app that supports podcasting2.0 and they're good to go.
This is what I see as well.
Itβs fair enough if people donβt find value in the music, but itβs definitely a discussion that deserves some attention.
Iβm pretty sure most of us would like to see a more decentralized version of the world, but right now, I have to say that Spotify is unfortunately my most reliable source of income tied directly to music streaming. Yes, there are other ways to earn a living, like live shows, merchandise, or even selling hotdogs, but Iβm old school and still believe that recorded music has its own value.
We have great potential here to make this space the independent and edgy alternative to Spotify, and a more successful version of Bandcamp. Without a better plan to make it happen, it will be difficult to convince newly onboarded artists not to lose interest after just a few months.
I'm sure that seems to be, and sure that tracks for Nostr generally, and there's a lot of people busy in there life making ends meet. Friction seems small but it's enough that there's slow adoption across this ecosystem.
That would be an interesting and creative approach. βͺ I'll need to have a closer look at this when I have a bit more time.
This is the kind of "Outside-The-Box" thinking that will eventually take us where we want to be. Thanks for sharing.

i hate hate hate hate (hate) that spotify is shoving podcasts into my face when I open the app, now even in the form of tiktok-slop style short-form videos, because fuck you that's why I guess, and my assumption is that it will only get worse from here. to add insult to injury it's political stuff. LEAVE ME ALONE. i just want to listen to some music ffs
