Was having a conversation with a friend about why we wait for the light to turn green when it’s 2am on some random road with no one around. Makes me think of this.

Definitely was in a situation like that before. Waited a while and it wasn’t turning green. You can guess what I did next.
Norms and habits. We behave in ways that are already comfortable and predictable to us.
You need to be in control of your own norms and habits. When they’re derived from rules and customs, you are slave to whomever made the rules and customs.
