yeah i suppose, but there's other difficult parts of nostr that make it unfriendly for the users (the keys being one main thing.. most people probably don't even use a password manager for passwords, if they don't do that, they won't keep a private key lol)
oh yeah that's the thing. some people have actually made small ones on their own RPis! but none that'll be at scale (although if you can host a small one for you and close friends, maybe that'll be the way to go? there'd have to be a ton of them though.)
and yeah that's the thing, bluesky *technically* have control over that. i'm not sure they ban them from the PDS though. i think that DID profile is just banned from accessing the bluesky service, but they can still use other atproto apps -- theoretically someone could make a "free speech bluesky" which caches all bluesky posts in a relay + whatever lexicon this new theoretical site would use, but again you're then relying on that person to not take gov censorship requests in
moderation/t&s is a really difficult thing on socials. you OBVIOUSLY don't want the AWFUL side of things like csam, irl violence, abuse, etc.. but then there's random censroship requests like this one.. and there seems to be no good way to do this (nostr won't be great for the bad things i just mentioned before..)

I don't see how nostr can be bad for such things if you're only seeing posts from who you follow
and for when you're discovering new content you can opt in to more strictly moderated or curated relays (you kinda have to anyway because most content that is interesting to others will look like just spam to you)
having a bunch if people run bsky relays and then an app that connects to a bunch of these? is that what you're suggesting? that starts to approach Nostr quite a lot, doesn't it? They'll never do that since the entire point of the relay there is to have just one
I don't know how serious are these proposals of making new apps if we know most people don't switch apps
but I don't know for syre, I just assume, maybe they do and my assumptions are wrong
