One day I might open an art exhibit and fill it full of texts between me and my bestie where we are roasting men who send me unsolicited DMs. Example provided so you can let me know if you’d at least visit the showing. 😆 The DM for today was a guy named Brandon who said “What do you do in your free time besides looking this good?” 🤣 Don’t worry - I don’t actually send back our replies because that would be bullying. Oh I get them on instagram and tiktok and got them on twitter before I left there to the tune of about a dozen a month. Not so much here. It used to make me feel weird like I was somehow attracting that kind of attention purposefully, but then I read Joe Dispenza’s work on how women who spend significant time alone learn to meet their own emotional needs and become strangely magnetic and I was like: oooooh ok 😬
not needing someone seems to be a big attractor in cases. I'm frustrated at the moment with guy friends trying to find dates on Tinder. I'm pretty sure the only women on there are scared away in short order, and the ones who star are there for business. And the algo isn't there to get people off of the platform either.
I’ve never once been on a dating app because tbh I am directionally challenged when it comes to left and right, and I’m terrified I would swipe the wrong way. 😆 also I’m married. But from what I’ve observed, dating is difficult right now. Connection and gratification have seem to become conflated.
