I haven’t been on Nostr for a while and now not seeing as many new posts as I used to. Has usage dropped or has something changed? Do I need different relays? I follow lots of people but I’m just not seeing many new posts.

Probably time zone and US holiday related. Most of the activity happens in the US daytime but with 4th July most ppl probably spending time with family

You can choose which relays you see on the global feed; best value choosing a paid relay.
Or wss://welcome.relay.wine is a good relay: it only shows the new people to welcome them 😉
You can also see your relays up in the top right hand corner. That's also a good place to check (my relays dropped out at some point and I had to go and re add a bunch) 🙌🙌
Engagement is lower in the last few months. I think some people gave up because Nostr is not attracting enough new people. Therefore less engagement therefore less people, ...
We need "famous people" like you to get a positive feedback loop again.
I see less posts today as well. Could be because of the holidays. But I had to add a few relays last week as well. The experience improved after a few hours. Hope that solves your problem
There are plenty of people here. Lack of algorithms, means you have to do the work of selecting the right number of people with the notes you are interested in. You can’t have both, either choose to curate yourself, or submit to curation by others. 🐶🐾🫡
Yeah, I had that experience before. So the time you joined before was probably around when Jack started to talk about nostr. A lot of people joined them but it didn’t turn into a habit for them (including me). You need to follow currently active people. Also since Nostr doesn’t have an algorithm it only shows you notes once. In twitter you get shown the same content multiple times as well as content the people you follow like etc.

The relay point is a valid question for me too. I tried to find info on this without success. Could the experience of NOSTR improve based on quality KPIs of the relays? If yes, which are those KPIs/features? So far, i could only find PUBLIC vs. PRIVATE and few other ones.
Anyone can comment on this? Highly appreciated.
